Our story is a crazy story. So buckle up.
We met when we were around 7 years old at a Korean church in Glendale. We were the best of friends and we even shared a bunk at our yearly VBS (Vacation Bible School).
She was somewhat of a brat, and I was the nice nerd. Inseparable.
So we thought.
Sadly, we were split apart due to my family moving to a different city. We were young, so no phone numbers were exchanged. Time went on, and she was replaced and I was replaced.

In highschool I began to attend Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena where I actually saw her from time to time. But since it had been about 7 years since I had last spoken to her, I kept quiet, and so did she.
Another 2 years went by, and I changed churches yet again. Around 2004 I called Youngnak my home church where I would go every sunday to the highschool worship service. Where AGAIN, I saw Mary. And AGAIN we both didn't say a word to eachother.
Time progressed, and I forgot about her and didn't see her around and vice versa.
Jump to 2005, my boyfriend at the time was taking me to go take my SATs at Arcadia Highschool where he attended. He ran into an old friend and insisted I meet her. I remember his exact words, because I didn't even let him finish: "This is my friend Mary-" and I finished with: "-Kae. Mary Kae. We used to be church BFFs."
We small talked for a couple minutes and reminisced about old times. Due to the SATs we went our seperate ways.

Jump to early 2007, I was perusing Facebook when I saw her in the Cal State Northridge Network, which is the college I attended and am currently attending. So I added her not thinking much of it. She messaged me briefly askng how I was and if I wanted to get frozen yogurt with her. I said yes, and of course, I flaked. I ran into her a couple times on campus and exchanged the occasional "hello." It was awkward. It had been YEARS since we hung out.
I thought she was gone out of my life. And I definitely regretted not grabbing yogurt with her. I felt awful. But life went on, and so did work. It was a slow day at work, we were short staffed and my manager Brian was going through several interviews that day. I was fed up seeing person after person coming and leaving. The last interview was up. And low and behold, Mary Kae walks through the doors. Both of our mouths dropped and I exclaimed, "What're you doing here?" Mary simply responded, "I have an interview. What're you doing here?" "I work here!!!"
She was hired the next day, and from then on we've truly been inseparable.

Where there is Mary, there is Jane. And.
Where there is Jane, there is Mary.
We honestly were meant to be best friends forever.
The Mary to my Jane.
